Protect Your Family; Document Your Health History - Tuesday, February 14, 2017

Have you considered starting a family health history—that is, a written record of your family’s health? If not, it’s something you may want to consider because it can provide valuable information when it comes to protecting your family’s health. Its purpose is to document potential genetic risk factors for certain diseases and conditions, which can help your doctors take better care of you and your loved ones.

Though not all diseases and conditions can be completely prevented, early detection is important in the treatment and prognosis of many serious medical conditions. For example, a patient whose breast cancer is detected and treated at Stage 1 generally has a 100% survival rate. This drops to 93% if detection happens at Stage II, and to 72% at Stage III.*

PSEACare Dental & Vision Plan - Monday, January 12, 2015
PSEA-Retired Members and their spouse can enroll in quality, affordable dental and vision insurance.  For more information and forms to apply, click on the link.

* Update*  At a recent meeting, Health & Welfare decided to increase the benefits to the dental and vision program. Dental will now cover white fillings for all teeth and no longer only be considered as cosmetic.  Vision will increase the cost of frames from a flat $24 to $75 off of the retail cost .  With the vision plan, the formula for frame benefit sometimes was not administered very clearly. This will now clear up the actual benefit to the member.

These increases in benefits will not change the monthly premium cost and will take affect
